We must learn how to build a website that lets customers understand who we are and what we can do for them. But first, we must show up well in search for our customers to see us. WordPress Training Create

If you think that you will build it, they will come, you will be very surprised. There is a lot of ingredients that make up a website that converts visits into sales. Here is a more detailed outline of what we will learn in this program:

Participants will identity risks to their website through their devices and plan to avoid making them. They will learn how to pick web domains for their business and they will also start to pick a web host.

Participants will recognize and know what a domain is and what is a host. They will learn how to set up and domain and a web hosting package and they will also learn how to set up a WordPress site on a web host.

Participants will see how Backupbuddy backs up a website. They will see how Backupbuddy can restore a website from that backup. They will write basic website HTML code, understand what each HTML code tag does and learn how to view website code from other websites.

Participants will learn how to use and navigate through their own host cPanel system. They will learn how to set up their own email addresses and deploy them, they will learn how to use and navigate through their own WordPress backend dashboard and they will be introduced to the idea of using keywords for their website.

Participants will learn how to install a WordPress theme, create a page, create a post, install a menu for the website and learn how to use Gutenberg.

Participants will identity the Update section of their WordPress site and update anything elements that needs an immediate update. They will also install a photo editor on their devices to work with images, create images for their WordPress website and upload those images.

Participants will add specific WordPress plugins to their site to increase ease of use and functionality of the website. They will also install the Contact Form 7 plugin on their site.

Participants will install and configure the SEO by Yoast plugin on their WordPress site. They will learn how to use the SEO by Yoast for their pages and posts.

Participants will learn how to install Google Analytics on their website. They will learn how to navigate the Google Analytics dashboard, how to install the Google Search Console on their website and how to navigate the Google Search Console Dashboard.

Participants will learn how to create video to be used on their website. They will learn video editing fundamentals, how to upload video to YouTube and how to embed video on their website.

WordPress Level 1 Requirements

The programs will be offered virtually in an online classroom setting in order to comply with the social distancing recommendations. Therefore, the programs must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet; phones will not be an acceptable device. Participants must have an Internet connection, hardwired preferred to wi-fi, high speed (no dial-up). Headset or earbuds must be used, and the participants must have a webcam, if no camera on their laptop; video participation is a requirement, to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants. A quiet place to focus is required, free from distractions. These details will be part of the INA process.

Participants must have good overall computer skills that will enable them to keep up with the training as well.
